Block printed by the artisan of India, this outfit represents the Warli paintings an expression of daily and social events of this largest tribe in Maharashtra state of India.
TARPA DANCE, the tribal folk dance of Warli people is the most widely depicted in Warli paintings. Tarpa is a trumpet like instrument which is played by a man who stands at the center and men and women dance around him forming circle without turning their backs to him. This traditional festival dance is performed during harvesting, Diwali and celebrations.
This t-shirt with a short are hand woven from kala cotton (indigenous cotton of Kutch), colored with natural dyes to produce a beautiful sage green color.
It took 3 artisans 3 days to bring the garment to life.
Since this product is handwoven and hand dyed with vegetable colors, blocked by hand with different artisans it may have slight irregularities thus each piece is unique soley made for you.
